Tarot Reading for the New Moon in Sagittarius
The New Moon in Sagittarius brings positive energy, the sparks of optimism and adventure, to kick off your purpose-led projects. So, what will you begin this month?
Yesterday’s New Moon was in Sagittarius, a fire sign that burns with a passion for truth-seeking, wandering a conversational road of learning and growth.
The Sagittarius suns of the world are folks who often take a broad-minded approach to the world, appreciation philosophy and ideology, finding spirituality helps in their internal quest.
At the end of the day, the Sagittarius energy in us all craves the meaning of life, and this New Moon cycle is all about beginnings related to purpose and meaning.
What begins for me this cycle?
6 of Cups
The Sagittarius New Moon cycle ushers in a period of emotional happiness and calm, shown by the 6 of Cups. Happiness occurs when what we do aligns with who we are toward good ends, and you may find that this New Moon asks you to find your happiness through alignment. Are you doing things that can actually make you happy? Or are you doing stuff you believe you’re supposed to do even though it’s crushing your spirit?
But if you’re having trouble identifying those happy moments because you’re still reeling from leftover crossroads-demon energy, make a committment to yourself to recognize, to be mindful of, the pops of happy juice that rise from your life cup during this time so they can help you find the balance and peace you crave.
A daily gratitude practice can help build a reflexive happiness habit, so if you’re not already practicing gratitude, you may find that journaling, yoga, or another creative activity focused on happiness can help you practice until happiness itself becomes second nature.
What opportunities come with it?
9 of Stones
The 9 of Stones ushers in opportunities toward good fortune, be it money, security, health, or comfort. While I can’t speak for you, this is fantastic news for em.
For most freelancers, 2024 has been a financially wild ride, both a debilitating and spiritually depleting year. Heading into 2025 knowing there are opportunities to increase material gain is a huge breath of fresh air, one that I can feel coming over the ether, as I’m better align myself and my work processes with my overall goals.
When material gains come, it’s important to remain grateful and avoid greed or conceit. Spreading and sharing the wealth goes far to building new wealth and keeping the wealth-train moving along life’s tracks.
Every great opportunity has its shadow side, so be sure to examine the opportunities that present themselves for shadows. After all, you don’t want to find stability just in time to end up like Ebenezer Scrooge.
How can I seize those opportunities?
2 of Cups
When the right oppotunities present, you’ll know it’s time to seize them for the love you feel in the 2 of Cups. You’re in relationships with yourself, with your friends and family, with your clients, and all of those relationships require their own committments. Dive in, head first.
You will need to make committments to yourself and to the others in your space to best seize the opportunities that present themselves. Approaching conversations and collaborations with love first is the path to creative expression and mutual harmonic balance.
With love comes the possibility of hate, so avoid fighting or jealousy, and remember to hold balance with you to stave off the extreme ups and downs of the Cups’ emotional love rollercoaster.
What challenges may crop up?
XIII Death
Ah, emotional death; psychological death; change! You, my friend, are going to slough off what no longer serves you. During this cycle, there will be a psychological letting go , an out-with-the-old winter cleaning as you make space for the person you’re becoming at this fresh start.
This year has changed you, but despite all those changes, you’re likely still doing many of the same things you have been doing just because even if they no longer feel aligned to your purpose. Think of your marketing efforts — are you still sharing the same kinds of stuff you shared a year ago? Or your passion projects — are you still floundering through partially finished (or worse, unstarted) creative works?
It can be difficult to change; it’s why most people don’t. If you remember, puberty was no walk in the park; neither was the coming-of-age that happened when your pre-frontal cortex matured. And so on. Burying a part of yourself because it’s gone belly up is a form of coming-of-age transformation.
Death asks you to transform the parts of yourself, including your processes, chrysaline, into something new. Lean into that happiness habit, and then build the progress habit that will ultimately help you accomplish that which you set out to do.
How can I resolve those challenges?
I The Magician
Who can’t use a bit of magic every now and again? The Magician puts you firmly in control of challenge-resolution. You have the strength and power to face any challenge that comes up along your purpose path, and you’ll use your creative energy and focused will to get it done.
While you may feel periods of inner resistence, remember that Death is putting those challenges in your path because you must handle them to move forward. You must become a better version of yourself to get through the muck and mire, and if you refuse to change, that magic energy will turn dark, go inward, and threaten to crush your process and purpose.
Keep magic at the top of mind. How can you face challenges creatively and discover new ways to solve your old problems? What would it mean to you to have your problems resolved and out of your way? What is stopping you from such resolution? And what can you pull out of your magic hat to move forward again?
What must I keep in mind during this time?
V The Hierophant
If this year has taught you anything at all, it’s taught you everything. You probably feel as though you’ve tried a million different things to move the proberbial needle in your favor, but nothing so far has seemed to work. However, what you gained was an intense and expansive knowledge about what you’re doing, and why — your traditions and teachings, your community.
Humans fear that which is different, that which they don’t understand, and humans hate that which reflects their own insecurities and ineptitudes. There will be lots of social pressure toward conformity, which is normal.
As you navigate your renewed purpose path, it’s possible you’ll hear from folks asking you to slow down, put away your map, and remain the same. However, the wants of the crowd likely result from ideas that have lost meaning or no longer fit you. When you know you must walk the path despite pressure otherwise, the Hierophant reminds you to commit to yourself and your newfound wisdom, to go hard at what you know you must do. To stay wise.
Wrapping up . . .
As with all new moons, this moon cycle presents a beginning and a chance to put your energy toward purpose-led use. Sagittarius holds the power to be a change-maker, and change you will, dear friend.
Adapting your process and strategy to better align with your goals will help you go far to setting a walkable path forward.
Stay optimistic and retain that joyful disposition. Self-doubt is not a friend; it’s an enemy to be feared at this time. Put that ish away, live in the moment, and stay open to the universe’s gifts of learning.
